Arc Journey has no accounts. You never give us an email address, a password or a name, and we have no way to learn who you are. The app stores your tasks and your completion history on our server so that the weekly review can be calculated and your record survives a reinstall. We do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who is responsible
Arc Journey is operated by Yersultan Sabyrkhanov, an individual developer based in Kazakhstan. For anything in this policy, write to yersultansabyrkhanov@gmail.com.
There are no accounts
Most apps identify you by an email address. Arc Journey does not. When you first open the app it generates a random identifier for your device and stores it on the device itself. Every request the app makes carries that identifier and nothing else about you.
This has a consequence worth stating plainly: the identifier is the only link to your data. If you delete the app or reset the device, that link is usually lost, and neither you nor we can recover the history it pointed to — there is no email address to look you up by.
What the app stores
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Device identifier | A random value generated on your device. It is how your tasks are matched to you, and it is not derived from your Apple ID or any account. |
| Your tasks | The titles you type, the domain and difficulty you pick, and the schedule you set. |
| Completions | Which task you finished and when. This is what streaks, arcs and the weekly review are computed from. |
| Time zone | So that "today" means your today, and reminders arrive at the hour you chose. |
| Notification token | Issued by Apple, used only to deliver the reminders you turn on. Stored only if you enable notifications. |
| Subscription status | Whether you have an active subscription, so the app knows what to unlock. We never see your card or your Apple ID. |
Task titles are free text. If you type something sensitive into a task name, that text is stored on our server along with the rest — so treat a task title the way you would treat a note in any app that syncs.
What we do not collect
- No name, email address, phone number or password.
- No contacts, photos, microphone, camera or health data.
- No precise location. The app knows your time zone, not where you are.
- No advertising identifiers, and no advertising SDKs of any kind.
Who else processes your data
Running the app needs a small number of services. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
| Service | What it receives |
|---|---|
| Apple | Handles every payment. Purchases are made through your Apple account and we never receive your payment details. |
| RevenueCat | Confirms whether a subscription is active, keyed to your device identifier. |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivers push notifications, if you enable them. |
| Mixpanel | Anonymous usage events — screens opened, onboarding steps finished, whether a paywall was shown or dismissed. Task titles are never sent. Data is held on Mixpanel's EU servers. |
| Our own server | Stores tasks, completions, time zone and subscription status, and computes the weekly review. |
How long it is kept
Your tasks and completions are kept while you use the app, because the review compares recent weeks against earlier ones and a record with holes in it would produce false readings. If you ask us to delete your data, we delete it.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. To remove what is on our server, email yersultansabyrkhanov@gmail.com from any address and include your device identifier, which the app shows in Profile. We will delete it and confirm when it is gone.
Because there is no account, we cannot verify who you are beyond that identifier — which is also why we cannot restore data once it is deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, have it deleted, or object to how it is processed. Arc Journey is operated from Kazakhstan and processes personal data under the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Personal Data and its Protection". Where the GDPR applies to you, we honour those rights too. Email us and we will act on the request.
Children
Arc Journey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Security
Data travels over an encrypted connection and is stored on a server we control, with access limited to the developer named above. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise; if a breach affects your data we will say so.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it and the current version is always at this address.
